Freelance Marketing and Communications
Creative Services
A marketing & communications professional with 20 years of diverse experience, I’ve worn many hats in my creative career.
A graphic designer by trade, I learned the art of design thinking, branding & visual communications while earning my BFA from Massachusetts College of Art & Design, one of the top public art schools in the US.
After being laid off from my first design job post-college during “The Great Recession,” I rediscovered my love of writing when I started the blog ”12 Months of Lent” where I took on a personal challenge every month for over 5 years (I was even honored to be nominated for Shape Magazine’s Best Blogger Award).
Although it started as a passion project, blogging shifted my career focus, and for the past decade I have been working in the marketing and communications industry, combining my design background and experience with my writing skills to create brand content for companies large and small.
I’ve developed brand messaging across all marketing channels for luxury businesses, managed social media accounts with thousands of followers, blogged for widely-recognized companies, contributed feature editorials to magazines, created logos and websites for small businesses and nonprofits, designed graphics for museums nationwide, and even worked some fun side-gigs like ghostwriting for a popular travel blogger.
Basically, if you have a marketing need, I’ve got you covered—or I know who to call to lend a hand.

Marketing and Communications for Small Businesses and Brands
Marketing is often one of the first parts of a business that people decide they can DIY.
You might have a knack for the more creative side of things so you enjoy it…but you just don’t have the time or energy to bring all your ideas to life.
Or you thought you could do it all yourself, but now you’re realizing you’re in over your head and just don’t have the time or necessary skills to get things to where you want them to be.
Or maybe you actually don’t even really like marketing but you took it on anyways and you’ve been dreaming of hiring someone to take it off your plate.
Whatever position you find yourself in, I can help.
I’ve been working in the creative industry for 20 years and I’m a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to marketing. I’m a designer, writer, and marketing & communications professional who is obsessively organized with the ability to see the big picture while also managing the many facets of the day-to-day. I’ve got a creative eye, a detail-oriented mind, decades of experience, and an intuitive sense for how to tell your story and market you and your business.
Basically: I love this stuff—it’s just how my mind works.
I’m currently working in a freelance capacity with options for both monthly retainer or project based work. Here is a list of the type of projects I typically take on, but don’t hesitate to reach out if you have something in mind that you don’t see listed here.

Note: While I worked as a graphic designer for many years, I’m currently not taking on full-scale branding or in-depth design projects. My husband Dan is an incredible designer though, so I’m always happy to bring him in when deeper branding and graphic design work is needed.
