20 Things I'm Thankful for in 2020
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, and as a reminder that while yes, things are pretty bad across the board this year, we can always find something to be grateful for.
20 Things I’m Thankful for in 2020
My health and the health of my family and friends. It was a tough, tough year health-wise for so many people in my life (not even related to COVID) and I’m very thankful that everyone is “ok”.
In a year when millions of people have lost their jobs, I am very grateful to still be employed full-time AND to have the ability to work from home.
My garden—the savior of my sanity this summer.
That I was able to see my parents at all this year, even if it was much less than I normally would have.
Meeting my besties’ twins. It involved a COVID test and 26 hours in the car by myself, but it was so worth it to see the little babes in real life and to give their mom a hug.
Our trip to Tulum. Boy were we lucky that was planned right before the world shutdown.
Local-ish trips to Saugatuck, Traverse City, and my first real trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (blog recap coming soon).
Virtual learning: I have taken 2 classes at my local community college this year and it’s been great to be a student again.
Zoom. I don’t think I even knew what Zoom was this time last year but it has made so many things possible in 2020. It’s not as good as real life, but it sure helps.
Paying off my car, woohoo!
My new bike. Fav. fun purchase of the year for sure.
Wine...and sugar...and carbs.
Restaurants, breweries, and bars with outdoor seating. THANK YOU.
The standing Sunday night Zoom call I have with 2 of my best girlfriends (33 weeks and counting!).
Sleeping in. I am very well-rested these days.
The sale section of the Madewell website, where a lot of my quarantine retail therapy has taken place.
Schitt’s Creek, Big Little Lies, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Sex Education, Succession, My Brilliant Friend, Unorthodox, The Big Flower Fight, Emily in Paris, Indian Matchmaker, Tiger King, The Goop Lab, Waco, The Crown, and every other TV series that has served as my nightly entertainment for the past 9 months.
Candles. I love candles.
Watching Donald Trump lose the election over and over again because he insisted on a recount. BYEDON ✌🏻
My quarantine partner in crime, my bestie, my husband Dan. I’ve wanted to spend every second of my life with him since pretty much the moment we met and this year I really got my wish haha.
It’s a shit year, but…all isn’t bad. Happy Thanksgiving.
p.s. Speaking of Dan, he took the lovely photo of me in this post a few weeks ago. ✨
