The Best “Woodsy” Essential Oil Diffuser Blends

For work last year, I was tasked with turning my company’s 1967 Airstream into a biophilic, Colorado-wilderness-inspired oasis at a trade show we were attending to give visitors to our booth a respite from the show floor.

I had to source the decor, find a florist to help bring in plant life, coordinate getting circadian rhythm lighting installed (which turned out super cool), select the soundtrack, and last but not least: choose the perfect scent.

I decided to experiment with diffusing essential oils and it was a lot of fun testing out different oil combinations leading up to the show to find just the right blend. Basically, my office smelled like a spa for a few months and I was not mad about it.

After much trial and error, these were my favorite blends for helping to create the woodsy/earthy/nature vibe that we were going for. I used this diffuser and just put in a few drops of each scent and it worked out great—and they’ve become my go-to scents to diffuse at home too:

And I might as well include a few photos of the Airstream too. It was a really fun project to work on and I loved seeing the reactions of all the trade show attendees who came inside to check it out.

And here’s a photo of some actual Colorado wilderness that Dan and I enjoyed after the trade show. We hiked around Rocky Mountain National Park for a day and then stayed at the Grand Lake Lodge, where we had this stunning view of the lake:
